Mrs. Saphronia Bailey Services Last Week (1970)

Mrs. Saphronia Elizabeth Bailey, aged 93, of Orma, Calhoun County, died Wednesday, August 26, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Cora Duncan, at Orma.

Born near Minnora, Calhoun County, she was a daughter of the late Elijah and Missouri Arnold Siers.

Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Minnora United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Cora Duncan, at whose home she died, Mrs. Velma Smith of Spencer, Mrs. Alma Bailey of Akron, O., and Mrs. Virgie Paprella of Barberton, O.; two sons, James Bailey of Ashtabula, O., and Paris Bailey, Rt. 3, Elizabeth.

Also surviving her are 27 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren, and 20-some great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Bailey, in 1954.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Orma U. M. Church. The Rev. Herbert Drake and the Rev. Johnnie Alfred officiated and interment was in the Bailey Cemetery near Orma. Stump Funeral Home of Grantsville was in charge of the arrangements.
