Elmer J. Bumgarner Dies at St. Marys (1968)
Elmer J. Bumgarner, 86, of Rt. 3, St. Marys, died Monday, January 8, at his home.
Born in Wirt County, he was a son of the late Thomas and Louise Hall Bumgarner. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church on Lynn Camp.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Lovell Bumgarner; two daughters, Blondena Bumgarner of St. Marys, and Mrs. Audrey Caltrider of Elizabeth; two sisters, Mrs. Nanny Channell, City, and Mrs. Oda Weaver, Akron, O.; and three brothers, William Bumgarner, Parkersburg, and Casper and Burley Bumgarner, both of Rt. 1, Palestine.
He as preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Willow Island Baptist Church, with the Rev. Calvin C. Ferrell officiating, and burial was in the Willow Island Cemetery. Ruttencutter Funeral Home of St. Marys was in charge of the arrangements.
