Relatives Attend E.D. Bumgarner Rites in Baltimore (1969)

E.D. (Dot) Bumgarner, 72, a native Wirt Countian, of 1100 Gregory Ave., Baltimore, Md., died Thursday, Sept. 4, in Mt. Wilson Hospital there.

He was a son of the late C.H. and Ella Dotson Bumgarner of Elizabeth, and spent his early years here. At one period of his life he worked as a meat cutter in Uniontown, Pa., and prior to 1942, was an auto dealer in Parkersburg. He left here in 1942, going to Baltimore, working for a time in the ship yards, then was employed at the Union Stock Yards until his retirement three years ago. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Noble Hall Bumgarner; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Cline, City; Mrs. Helen Cheuvront, Palestine, and Mrs. Jean Harrison, Cambridge Springs, Pa.; two brothers, Roy H. Bumgarner, City, and Charles H. Bumgarner, Rt. 3, City; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Raymond (Oleta) Kidder and Sam Dotson, both of Parkersburg, are cousins of the deceased.

Funeral services were held at the Witzke Funeral Home, Baltimore, Monday. Interment followed there.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Harrison came here during the weekend, and Jean, Mrs. Cline, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cheuvront, Roy Bumgarner and Jim Cheuvront of Belpre all attended the Monday services. Charles Bumgarner, the other brother, was prevented from attending because of hospitalization in Parkersburg the past several days.
