Carl Bumgarner Dies in Arizona

Word has been received by the Journal of the death on Thursday, May 17, in a Phoenix hospital of Carl A. Bumgarner, 61, of 1140 Harry Street, Tempe, Ariz.

He was a native Wirt Countian, born on Buffalo Ridge, son of Mrs. Iva Baker Bumgarner, now Mrs. Iva Cox of 1512 E. Apache Blvd., Tempe, AZ 85281, and the late Herbert Bumgarner.

He spent the first 11 years of his boyhood in the Buffalo Ridge area, then lived in Parkersburg until 1957 when he moved to Arizona. He had been a service manager for Phoenix City Trailer Sales until illness forced his retirement a few years ago. Before going west, he also resided for a time at Dexter City, O., and before locating in Tempe, he had resided in Sunnyslope, Mesa and Cave Creek, Ariz.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Irene E. Bumgarner, of Tempe; a foster son, Eddie E., of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Dolly Edith Ceaback, of Tempe; and two grandsons.

Graveside services were held Monday, May 21, at 2 p.m., in Double Butte Cemetery, in Tempe, AZ. Carr Mortuary of that city was in charge of the arrangements.
